15 Olympic-Style Games Connecting Boingo Employees

We had the pleasure of planning an Olympic team building event at Elysian Park in Los Angeles for 185 employees and their families. For the first part of the picnic, guests enjoyed a catered lunch alongside a MEGA Bingo stage show that incorporated custom corporate trivia. Afterward, everyone headed out for a series of Olympic-style games. Employees formed teams to navigate 15 different stations designed to test vital skills like communication, problem-solving, strategic planning, and trust-building.

We designed each of the 15 stations to highlight distinct individual strengths. Specific games rewarded quick physical reflexes, while separate challenges highlighted tactical planning and composed decision-making. Every employee held a distinct advantage at various points throughout the day. This balance is essential. In an office environment, unique contributions drive collective success. These activities allowed individuals to demonstrate specialized skills outside of standard daily tasks. By the end of the day, teams clearly recognized the emergent leaders, the grounding presences under pressure, and the foundational members who unified the group.​

Custom Olympic Team Building Planning, Station by Station​

Every Olympic event we run is designed around the group in front of us, not a fixed template. We take into account the venue, group size, ages, and budget, then choose anywhere from 4 to 15 competition stations from one of the largest inventories of team-building challenges in the country. Because we own everything, there's no outside vendor limiting what combinations we can put together.

Each station gets its own game leader, custom directional signage, and safety flagging, with a full Olympic presentation stage, satellite sound, and wireless mic tying the whole event together. As the competition unfolds, top teams advance toward a final round, competing for gold, silver, and bronze on a 3-tiered rostrum in front of the whole company.

We handle everything beyond the games, too: tables, chairs, linens, stage, sound, and catering, including a pre-game lunch where teams sit together before competing and a fun food close-out afterward. With 40 years of experience running these events in parks and parking lots alike, nothing is guessed, outsourced, or improvised.
