Welcome Zone at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort: Guest Registration for Company Picnic

When we plan a company picnic, no matter the venue, we break the event space down into what we call "Event Zones." These zones serve an essential role in organizing the space and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Guests are typically greeted at what we call "The Welcome Zone," which includes a guest registration booth. This zone extends from the parking area all the way to the entrance of the event. We strategically place A-frame signs to guide guests effortlessly to the entrance, where they’ll find the welcome booth.

For this Orange County company picnic, which had a luau-inspired vibe, we added a special touch with a large "Aloha" sign at the entrance, complementing the tropical theme and creating an inviting atmosphere from the moment guests arrived.

Outdoor Games for COmpany Picnic on the Sand in Newport Beach, California

​For this Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort company picnic, we created a Field Games Zone right on the beach, with the sand providing the perfect backdrop for adult-focused fun and friendly competition. The custom competition area was designed to engage participants with a variety of interactive challenges, ensuring there was something for everyone. The package also included two prize tables with rewards for both winners and participants, a lively host to maintain the excitement, and safety flagging to keep the area secure and organized. With surround sound and a wireless mic for clear announcements, the Field Games Zone became the go-to spot for guests to connect and enjoy some spirited competition.

In addition to the Field Games Zone, we set up a Sports Zone on the sandy shores of Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort. This high-energy, interactive area featured exciting activities such as Soccer Darts, Basketball Hoop Shootout Duo, Human Foosball, and a dedicated Volleyball area. Designed to bring out the competitive spirit, the Sports Zone provided guests with multiple opportunities to enjoy their favorite sports while soaking in the beachside atmosphere. It was the perfect space for teammates and colleagues to bond through active, engaging sports themed challenges.

Adult-Focused Games & Activities for a Newport Beach Company Picnic

At this company picnic, we created an Adult Fun Zone on the beach, giving guests a dedicated space to relax and enjoy friendly competition. This area featured classic favorites like Jumbo Jenga, Cornhole, and Ping Pong tables, adding a mix of laid-back and interactive activities. Guests loved having a space designed just for them, where they could challenge each other, connect with colleagues, and enjoy some lighthearted fun against the scenic waterfront backdrop of Newport Dunes.

Comfortable, Beach-Inspired Seating at Newport Dunes Company Picnic

​Did we mention the comfortable seating we provided? Not only was it picture-perfect for all the event photos, but it was also the best in the industry.  We set up 60" round tables, allowing everyone to face one another, socialize, and enjoy conversation, all while strategically facing the stunning waterfront views. For seating, we used 8 folding chairs per table, which could accommodate four couples or 8 individuals—maximizing space and ensuring plenty of seating for everyone.

To keep guests comfortable, we included 9' market umbrellas to protect from the sun, ensuring no one had to squint while seated. The custom-fit table covers, in a vibrant turquoise, matched the beach vibes perfectly. Thick and securely fitted, they stayed in place without ever blowing away, allowing guests to enjoy the views, entertainment, and catering offerings in comfort.
