We had the privilege of planning a corporate holiday party in San Pedro, California for Weber Metals at The Craft. The night called for Roaring Twenties glamour, so our team lit the room in a warm golden glow, dressed the tables in crisp white linens, and set a gold Gatsby podium at the center of the stage. ​The Great Gatsby theme is all about capturing the opulence and glamour of the Roaring Twenties, with its Art Deco style, lavish parties, and a sense of timeless elegance. To achieve this, the lighting had to be perfect, setting the mood with a warm, golden glow that evoked the luxury of the era. We used white linens for the tables and chairs to create a crisp, classic look that complemented the glitz of the dinnerware and glassware. The stage featured a stunning Gatsby podium, serving as a striking focal point that tied the entire room together with its gold colors and intricate design. The result was a space that truly embodied the spirit of Gatsby’s world.

​A Gatsby party needs a good bar, and ours sat right at the edge of the dance floor. The bartenders stocked it with wine, beer and mixers so coworkers could grab a drink and head straight to the floor. Across the room, the DJ stage glowed blue under the haze, and rows of string lights stretched overhead from the bar to the dinner tables, pulling the whole space together.

Seating a room this size takes a plan. We set dozens of round banquet tables in long, even rows and left a wide aisle straight down the middle, so every seat had a clear view of the stage. Each table got the full Gatsby treatment, with black napkins against white linen, stemmed glassware at every place, and a gold bottle centerpiece filled with white blooms and black feathers. White padded garden chairs kept the look light, and tall fabric wraps on the columns pulled the eye up toward the canopy of lights. From the back of the room, the whole layout read like an elegant procession leading to the Art Deco stage.

​Some of the best conversations at a corporate holiday party happen away from the music, so we set up a lounge just for that. Dark suede sectionals wrapped around a low coffee table, with silver pillows on the seats and cube ottomans for anyone who wanted to pull up a spot. Amber light washed up the wood walls behind it, and the whole corner took on a warm speakeasy feel that fit right in with the Gatsby theme.
