70's Disco Christmas Party Planning at the Rose Bowl, Shattering Expectations for Fullerton Glass12/11/2021 All-Inclusive Holiday Event Package Bringing Out the Hippie in EveryoneWe had the privilege of planning a corporate Christmas party with a 70's decades theme at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles for Fullerton Glass. Employees and their guests started the night in a locker room set up as a disco lounge, complete with a light-up dance floor, mirrored balls, DJ trussing, a pool table, and a lighted bar surrounded by high-top cocktail tables. From there, a colorful hallway lined with up-lighting, spinning disco balls, and a foosball table led employees and their guests toward the vintage Volkswagen photo bus and out onto the stadium concourse. Outside, the concourse split into two distinct sides: catering to the east, where a full buffet and open bar kept the line moving, and games to the west, where our custom Game Show Mania, had participants lined up at glowing podiums for a run of 70's trivia. Everyone spread out across the concourse to play a few rounds of games and soak in the groovy lighting that carried the 70's theme all the way through the venue. Feeding a Crowd of Free Spirits at the Rose BowlCatering for this event was on the east side of the field, where a full buffet kept the line moving and gave employees and their guests plenty to choose from. The spread covered a wide range of tastes, from the vegan-vegetarian tree hugger to the crunchy carnivore, so no matter what someone was in the mood for, there was a plate for them. Paired with a full open bar nearby, guests could grab a drink and food and settle in for the night without ever leaving the concourse. Far-Out Adult Beverages Keeping Good Vibes Flowing at This Groovy Corporate Holiday PartyThe venue provided a full-service bar around every corner, offering a wide selection of adult beverages to suit every taste. From classic cocktails to craft beers and fine wines, guests enjoyed expertly prepared drinks throughout the evening. These well-stocked bars helped maintain a far out atmosphere and complemented the overall experience. Saturday Night Fever in the Rose Bowl Locker RoomRight in the middle of the locker room, we set up a full checkered dance floor lit from below in red and blue, glowing bright enough to anchor the entire room. Overhead, a cluster of disco balls hung from truss lighting, catching the colors of the floor and scattering light across the lockers still lining the walls. A lit DJ booth sat just off to the side, keeping the music going while employees and their guests danced the night away under the disco lights. Photo Booth Fun: A Classic 70’s Volkswagen Bus for Memorable Holiday Party PhotosAdding a unique touch to the event, the photo booth featured a real 1970s Volkswagen bus that perfectly matched the party's retro theme. This iconic backdrop created a fun, nostalgic spot for guests to capture memorable moments with coworkers. It was one of the most photographed spots of the night, giving attendees a keepsake photo to remember the night. Bringing Back Bits of the Decade That Made Game Shows FamousOn the west side of the concourse, right next to a secondary bar, we set up Game Show Mania, our custom-built game show experience made for corporate crowds. Willing participants lined up at glowing digital podiums, buzzing in for a run of trivia that leaned straight into the decade, questions about legendary musicians like Elton John kept the energy high and the laughs coming. Game shows were all the rage in the 70's, so bringing that format into the party gave guests a way to compete, cheer each other on, and get a little competitive without it ever feeling forced.
