A Parking Lot in Redlands transformed into a complete Opening Day event with catering, field games, inflatables, and full-service planning, staffing, and execution all under one team. This parking lot at a facility in Redlands, California was converted into a full company picnic for Keurig Dr Pepper Opening Day, serving 300 employees and their families. Branded food service tents were set with grill-to-bun burgers and hot dogs coming off fresh, condiment stations stocked and ready, and fun foods like funnel cakes and cotton candy running alongside. Field games, water activities, and inflatables were spaced out so multiple areas could operate at once without crowding, while shaded seating gave guests a place to sit, eat, and stay comfortable. Power, sound, check-in, and staffing were all handled by one team, allowing the entire event to run smoothly from start to finish inside a working parking lot environment. You could smell the burgers and hot dogs coming off the grill before even getting to the line. 1/3 lb Angus beef patties were going straight from the grill to the bun, hot, fresh, and consistent. All-beef hot dogs were being served right alongside, with a full condiment station that was loaded with toppings, clean, and easy for guests to move through without waiting or crowding. MEGA Field Games Team Building CompetitionOur MEGA Field Games competition is an exclusive package we created because team building belongs at the center of a company picnic—and that’s exactly how it was executed here at the Dr Pepper Keurig company picnic in the Redlands parking lot. Every game was adapted to the space and ground surface type so it worked exactly the way it needed to in this environment. Water activities were built right into the mix, giving people a reason to jump in, react, and be part of it instead of standing on the sidelines. Alongside that, the MEGA Cup Stack competition brought the head-to-head element—fast hands, pressure at the table, and everyone watching to see who hits it clean. The entire competition was led by our experienced host, Tim Ward, on the mic, calling out matchups, reacting in real time, and adding that comedic edge that keeps people engaged without forcing anything. This is where the team building actually happens—people stepping in, competing, reacting, and creating moments together that stick long after the event. Interactive Game Zone for Passive PlayThis area gave employees and families a place to jump in and play at their own pace. No scheduled start times, no waiting—just walk up, understand the game, and get into it. It worked across all ages, whether it was coworkers competing or families playing together. Two "Game On! Interactive Game Zone" tents created a shaded, clean, easy-to-recognize setup. The look pulled people in, and once they stepped up, everything was clear. Every station featured custom digitally printed table covers that doubled as instructions. People didn’t need to ask how to play—it was right there in front of them. High-Throughput Attractions for Multiple Age GroupsBeyond the field games and passive entertainment area, additional attractions were brought in to make sure different age groups had their own place to play throughout the event. This wasn’t random placement —each piece was selected to serve a specific audience and keep the parking lot active from one side of the event to the other. Attractions included:
The 3-in-1 Sports Trio is one of the sports attractions we use often because it combines multiple challenges into one piece, giving older kids, teens, and adults different ways to compete without taking up unnecessary space. The 19’ double lane slide handled strong volume throughout the event with two lanes running at the same time, making it a strong fit for a company picnic of this size. For younger children, the Pacific Combo Ocean themed playcenter and sports bouncer combo gave ages 2–8 their own dedicated attractions designed specifically for their age group. The playcenter especially works well at busy events because multiple children can move through it at once, helping keep activity flowing without long waits. Air Brush Artists & Balloon Twisting for Family EntertainmentThe shaded family entertainment area gave kids and families a place to slow down, interact, and take home something memorable from the company picnic. Air brush tattoos and balloon twisting added a more personal entertainment experience to the event while giving children colorful take-home creations they could continue enjoying long after the picnic ended. Complete Parking Lot Company Picnic Planning & Guest ComfortParking lot company picnics only work when the entire space is organized correctly from the beginning. This event was designed so guests could move comfortably between dining, inflatables, games, and activity areas without the picnic feeling crowded or disconnected. Welcome Area & Guest RegistrationThe welcome area and guest registration station created a clean first impression the moment employees and families arrived at the picnic. The registration table under the welcome tent gave guests an organized, easy-to-understand arrival point that immediately made the event feel professional, attractive, and well coordinated before they entered the different activity areas throughout the parking lot picnic. Shaded Seating AreasRows of shaded seating areas with 9' market umbrellas provided full encompassing shade for employees and families throughout the picnic. The seating was strategically placed so guests still felt connected to the inflatables, games, music, and activity happening around the event instead of being isolated in a separate dining section. Custom-fit vinyl table covers gave the seating areas a cleaner, more finished appearance while also staying secure in the wind and allowing tables to be quickly wiped down throughout the day. Surround Sound & AnnouncementsWireless microphones and surround sound speaker clusters were all part of the all-inclusive event package for this parking lot company picnic. Announcements, music, and communication carried clearly across the event with balanced sound levels that reached the different activity areas without creating overwhelming noise around seating and dining spaces. Strategic Parking Lot PlanningThe parking lot was laid out with intentional flow that brought together the different activity areas in a way that felt seamless and easy to navigate. Catering, inflatables, shaded seating, field games, and interactive passive entertainment all had their place, with clear signage and attractive event tents helping guests immediately understand where to go throughout the employee appreciation event. One Vendor Handling Everything for a Parking Lot Company Picnic Keurig Dr Pepper Employees & Their Families Will Never ForgetThis company picnic was produced as a fully coordinated all-inclusive event package that included entertainment, catering, seating, shade umbrellas, audio, staffing, event coordination, and the complete transformation of the parking lot into a functioning employee appreciation event space.
One in-house team handled the entire production from setup through strike, giving the client one point of contact instead of having to coordinate multiple vendors throughout the day. Comments are closed.
