While lineworkers and apprentices put their skills to the test during the annual rodeo competition, our team planned a full day of attractions, field games, obstacle courses, and interactive entertainment for 3,000 members of the community. For more than 15 years, Southern California Edison has trusted our team to help bring the Lineman’s Rodeo to life at Prado Regional Park in Chino, California. As the event has grown into a 3,000-person community event, the entertainment experience has grown with it, giving families, coworkers, lineworkers, apprentices, and community members more ways to enjoy the day between the rodeo competitions. For 2026, our team planned a custom mix of field games, obstacle courses, interactive attractions, teen activities, and family entertainment designed around the age range, crowd size, event flow, and throughput needed for a day of this magnitude. High-Voltage Engagement: Designing the Ultimate Community ShowcasePrado Regional Park became a different kind of grid for the day, where the focus shifted from technical precision to the collective spirit of the Southern California Edison community. With three thousand members of the community moving through the space, the objective was to set up an environment that kept pace with everyone from the youngest family members to seasoned coworkers. We strategically laid out the park so that gravity and movement took center stage. In one corner, a 30' climbing rock wall drew aspiring future linemen, while nearby, long lines snaked toward inflatable obstacle courses and our MEGA Field Games, turning friendly rivalry into the main attraction. For those seeking a rhythm that stayed closer to the ground, we anchored the space with passive table games, lawn activities, and challenges that invited quick participation between more intense rounds of spectating. By mixing these physical tests with accessible, low-friction games, the field remained constantly active, allowing every guest to decide exactly how they wanted to plug into the day. The Southern California Edison Lineman's Rodeo Experience Extended Far Beyond the CompetitionThe goal was to make sure the attractions fit the event, the attendance, the age ranges, the demographics, and the theme of the day. For the Southern California Edison Lineman’s Rodeo, that meant choosing activities that gave younger kids room to play, future linemen a reason to climb, coworkers a place to compete, and families a way to share the day together. MEGA Field GamesOur MEGA Field Games were one of the strongest fits for this event because they gave the Southern California Edison community a way to compete, laugh, jump in, jump out, and be part of the action without committing to one long activity. This is our exclusive team-building experience, created by us and only available through our all-inclusive event packages. The games are constantly being switched out and cycled through quickly, which keeps the energy moving and gives more people a chance to participate. With over 100 different game options, a live game host, prizes, surround sound, safety flagging, and interchangeable game cavities, the MEGA Field Games created a fun, organized, competitive space for coworkers, families, and members of the community to come together throughout the day. 6-in-1 Extreme Sports ArenaJoining the MEGA Field Games in the activity area were several of the event's most interactive attractions. The 6-in-1 Extreme Sports Zone was one of the most versatile pieces in the activity area. Inside the giant inflatable arena, guests could jump into basketball, soccer, dodgeball, and other sports throughout the day. While the attraction can also be configured for activities like jousting and boxing, it was primarily used as a sports arena for this event, giving larger groups a place to compete together. 30' Climbing Rock WallThe 30-foot rock wall was a natural fit for the Southern California Edison Lineman's Rodeo. Guests could hook in, climb, and put their own skills to the test while experiencing a small taste of what the competitors were doing out on the rodeo field. That's always the goal, to make sure the attractions fit the event, the attendance, the age ranges, the demographics, the throughput requirements, and the theme of the day. Mechanical Bull RideOf course, no rodeo feels complete without a mechanical bull ride. As one of the most recognizable attractions at the event, it gave guests a chance to climb on, hold tight, and see how long they could last before getting tossed from the saddle. Reaction AttractionThe Reaction Attraction tested speed, focus, and reaction time. Inside the inflatable arena, players raced to hit constantly changing red and blue LED targets before their opponent could. The challenge wasn't just speed. The colors were continuously changing, forcing players to react quickly while avoiding mistakes. The Toxic Meltdown RideAnother crowd favorite was Toxic Meltdown. This giant circular attraction challenged players to stay balanced on one of four pedestals while a swinging arm rotated around the arena. Jump too early or too late and you were headed for the inflatable floor. It was one of those attractions that drew a crowd, whether guests were competing or standing nearby watching the action. Pacific Combo PlaycenterFor younger children, the Pacific Combo Play Center offered climbing and sliding elements inside a large ocean-themed attraction. Designed for younger age groups, it gave kids their own space to explore while still handling the attendance numbers of an event this size. Rocky Island Obstacle Course The Rocky Island Obstacle Course brought a different type of competition. Two participants raced to the top of a giant climbing mountain before sliding down opposite sides themed like waterfalls. Its size made it one of the most visible attractions in the activity area and one of the first things guests noticed from a distance. Safari Challenge Obstacle CourseThe Safari Challenge Obstacle Course added another racing element to the event. This long safari-themed course sent two competitors through a series of obstacles, columns, and physical challenges as they raced side-by-side toward the finish. Its length, visual appeal, and competitive format made it a natural fit for a community event built around friendly rivalry and competition. Table Games & Yard GamesThe passive entertainment area gave guests a more laid-back way to play between the bigger attractions, field games, rock wall, and sports challenges. This area included yard games, table games, and skill-based activities that people could walk up to and start playing right away. Each game was easy to understand, with digitally printed table covers that explained how to play, so guests could jump in, socialize, compete, and move at their own pace.
