A Carnival-Themed Company Picnic for 1,050 Employees and Families at Keurig-Dr Pepper 2026

From parking and registration to catering, carnival attractions, Big Top field games, and fun foods, our team planned and produced this all-inclusive company picnic at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area for more than 1,050 guests.

​We had the privilege of planning a company picnic for Keurig Dr Pepper at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte. Built around a classic Big Top carnival theme, guests were welcomed into an event that captured the look and feel of a traditional midway from the moment they arrived. From check-in and catering to the entertainment, attractions, and adult game area, the theme carried throughout the event. With more than 1,050 employees and family members in attendance, there was something for every age group, from carnival-themed inflatables for younger guests to larger attractions, field games, and our Adult Fun Zone under the Big Top. The result was a company picnic that felt like a day at the fairgrounds.

The First Stop Under the Big Top

​The carnival atmosphere ignited well before guests stepped into the main event. Strategic signage guided Keurig Dr Pepper employees and their families from the parking lot toward a custom-branded welcome tent, where our team managed registration and handled wristband distribution. Far from a standard check-in, this process acted as a polished opening act for the day, ensuring buffet access was handled with ease while maintaining an organized, high-energy environment. For over 1,050 guests at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area, this welcome area served as the perfect curtain-raiser for everything that followed.

Midway Munchies: Barbecue That Steals the Spotlight

​When coordinating catering for over 1,000 guests, the success of the afternoon hinges on one crucial reality: nobody wants to spend their time standing in a massive food line. We have dialed in our catering operation to ensure that the transition from midway excitement to a full plate is seamless and swift. By utilizing professional, double-sided buffet lines housed under custom-branded tents, we turn the act of serving a crowd into a streamlined performance. Guests know exactly where to go, and thanks to our expert team that keeps the pace moving, the focus stays on the celebration rather than the wait. It is a fusion of high-end presentation and precision logistics that delivers a satisfying, stress-free dining experience for every attendee.

Carnival Concessions: The Classics Done Right

​No carnival is complete without the classics. We set up a dedicated Fun Food Shack to bring that authentic, sugary nostalgia to life. With fresh, hot strawberry funnel cakes dusted in powdered sugar and a self-serve shaved ice station overflowing with vibrant flavor options, these treats provided an exciting pick-me-up for guests throughout the day. We include these favorites because they capture the true spirit of a carnival, giving guests a chance to customize their own refreshments and indulge in the timeless snacks that make the entire event feel complete.

The Mega Carnival Field Games: Where Team Building Meets the Big Top

Our field games are the foundation of any great company picnic—they are where team building becomes an experience rather than a checklist. We created our exclusive Mega Carnival Field Games package to be exactly that: the pulse of the event. Anchored by our custom “Big Top” backdrop, this setup features interchangeable panels that allow us to cycle through dozens of unique, skill-based challenges in seconds. The Carnival Mega Field Games provided an immersive atmosphere, bringing everyone together for a team-building experience like no other. Our professional host, Tim Ward, drove the action on the mic with his contagious energy and comedic presence. With high-value prizes on the line, rounds of challenges turned into a fully competitive event for employees and their families. Memories were made and relationships were built, all of which will translate back to the office long after the carnival is over. 

Feature Attractions: Bringing the Fairgrounds to Life

This carnival-themed company picnic for KDP featured a collection of attractions that brought an authentic fairground experience to Whittier Narrows. The Ferris Wheel Playcenter Bouncer served as a circus-tent-style play area for children ages 2 to 8, providing plenty of space for them to bounce, climb, and slide.

For a visual anchor, the 26-foot Triple Lindy Slide acted as a towering carnival masterpiece. With its vibrant red, blue, yellow, green, and pink colors and high-throughput three-lane design, it stood out as a destination piece for attendees of all ages. To add a competitive element, we included the Wild One roller coaster obstacle course. This long, roller-coaster-shaped course featured a slide at the end and allowed two people to race simultaneously, providing a fast-paced activity that solidified the fairgrounds atmosphere.

To round out the fun, we included the 3-in-1 inflatable Carnival Booth and the 3-in-1 Sport Trio3-in-1 Sports Trio. The Carnival Booth offered three carnival games at once, while the large, bright red Sport Trio provided soccer, baseball, and football options. Together, these pieces ensured high throughput and gave the group a real midway experience.

The Adult Fun Zone Under the Big Top

The “Under the Big Top” Adult Fun Zone creates an essential escape at a company picnic—a shaded, relaxed retreat where the atmosphere shifts from the roar of the midway to the focus of a great game. Housed beneath a massive inflatable big top, this area creates a cool, inviting environment filled with table games and passive entertainment.

It is where attendees gravitate to challenge a coworker to a round of Snatch It, Dice Derby, or Flap Attack. Because it is tucked away under the big top, it provides a sense of exclusivity that pulls people in, allowing them to hang out, grab a drink, and engage in some friendly, low-stakes rivalry. Whether guests are playing inside the shade or testing their luck with Jumbo Jenga just outside the entrance, this zone adds a level of sophistication and leisure that makes a company picnic feel complete. It is the perfect spot for those who want to stay part of the carnival energy without the intensity of the main field games

Dressing Up The Midway: Gingham and Good Vibes

The Whittier Narrows Recreation Area provides a beautiful, naturally shaded setting, so we leaned into the existing layout. Instead of bringing in extra tables, we transformed the park’s seating with red-and-white gingham covers. These covers pulled the entire look together, tying the picnic grounds directly into the rest of the carnival theme. Employees brought their own lawn chairs, which worked perfectly to maintain the relaxed, comfortable vibe of the picnic.
